Due to forthcoming retirement, we are seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join our friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual with strong legal accounting experience and a sound working knowledge of the Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules. As a Legal Cashier, you will be expected to
Possess a strong attention to detail, proficiency with legal accounting software and knowledge of the Law Society of Scotland Accounts rules
Input and progress data accurately and promptly onto the firm’s Practice Management System
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations
Prepare and submit VAT returns and other management reports as required
Assist in preparing year-end accounts and liaising with external auditors
Liaise with fee-earners regarding transactions
Use on-line banking systems for processing payments
Process monthly salaries and manage PAYE
Provide audit evidence and ensure compliance with Law Society rules for client funds
Recognise and manage and report risk effectively

Be confident working with the Practice Management System
Have a positive attitude, be numerate and methodical
Be a team player who can also work using your own initiative
