Position - Part Time Legal Cashier/Cashroom Assistant

Watters, Steven & Co are a busy high street firm in Motherwell.

We are currently seeking a part time Legal Cashier to join our team. Ideally you would work on a part-time basis across Monday to Friday. We would prefer a SOLAS-qualified candidate with experience in a legal cashroom environment given the responsibility of the role. You would report directly to one of the Partners. Key Responsibilities: Financial Transactions: accurately handling the cashbook and sales ledger daily transactions which includes client and office accounts receipts, payments, journals and invoicing. Bank Reconciliations: Complete the daily and monthly bank reconciliations for client funds held. Client Ledger management: reviewing and working closely with the fee earners to ensure client ledgers are accurate and up to date. Reporting: assisting with the monthly financial reporting. Compliance: Ensure compliance with the Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules. Qualifications: Preferred SOLAS qualified Experience: essential Law firm experience within a cash department Skills: Strong numerical skills, attention to detail and proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel Knowledge: a good understanding of the Law Society of Scotland Accounts Rules would be desirable.
